Come be inspired by the beauty of Spring folk traditions!

In this class, you will learn about the magic, folkways, and wisdom of Springtime. This lesson will take a flowering path through traditions of Beltane eve, Walpurgis night, sacred bonfires, traditional water charms, love and fertility practices, plant lore, and more. We will not only learn about these old traditions, but we will also learn why people practiced them and how we can apply this wisdom to our lives. After the lecture, participants will spend time making a spring talisman of their own to take home. Come away from this class inspired to practice traditions of old as a way to thrive in Spring.

About the Teacher:

Hayley Huston is a practitioner and teacher of British Isles and Scandinavian folk tradition. She places great importance on working with ancestral root cultures as a means of deepening one's spiritual practice, enlivening one's relationship to nature, and connecting to the wisdom of ancestors. After nine years of training, she now teaches classes on folk magic, and she works 1-1 with clients to heal issues of a spiritual nature. As an intuitive, she helps clients to help find the direction of thriving through traditional divination methods and tarot. Hayley has worked 1-1 for several years with her mentors to become a teacher of these traditions. The information in this lecture comes directly from her many years of training and extensive research in folk archives. Hayley's training includes, Trolldom, Nordic spirituality, seidr, animism, plant spirit healing, spådom (traditional divination), meditation, tarot, and more. Location:

This 2-hour class will be held at Hedge Meadow Herbs + Apothecary located at 25 Brodhead St in Mazomanie, WI.

What to Expect/Bring:

This class is for you if you would like to learn about the folkways and traditions of spring time not readily found in books, and you would like to learn how to weave them into your current practice. 

This class is not for you if you do not enjoy lecture style classes or sitting for a few hours. However, this class will have breaks and time at the end for questions and reflections/sharing.

Herbal tea will be provided but please bring whatever else you need to take care of yourself. You may also want to bring a pen and paper ~ handouts of information shared will not be provided.

Accessibility:

We will be seated in chairs during this class. Feel free to bring a floor pillow if you prefer sitting that way. Please note that you must go up two stairs to enter the building.

Covid Safety:

Weather-permitting, the door will remain cracked throughout the duration of class and there will be an air purifier running in the space. Masks are not required but recommended. Please use common sense and do not attend class if you’re sick, if someone in your household is sick, or if you know you’ve been exposed to an infectious pathogen.

Cancellation/Refund Policy:

We reserve the right to cancel class at any point due to a lack of interest. If this is the case, anyone who has signed up will receive a full refund.

If you sign up for class but can no longer attend, please let us know at least 48 hours prior to class for a full refund. If you let us know the day prior to class, you will receive a 50% refund. Sorry, but if you cancel the day of class you will not receive a refund.
