Hedge Meadow herbal remedies are an act of devotion.

Hedge Meadow herbal teas and other goods are the culmination of nearly a decade of in-depth herbal study and practice. You can learn more about Clare (the owner and herbalist behind Hedge Meadow Herbs + Apothecary) and her background in herbalism here

While our house line of Hedge Meadow teas are formulated to be gentle and delicious enough to enjoy whenever you'd like a cup of something cozy, they’re made entirely from plants that contain medicinal properties. If you have questions about a particular tea and how best to work with it, please feel free to reach out to Clare directly.*

Where we source our herbs from is extremely important to us. Because tinctures and topical remedies require much less bulk material, the herbs that are used in Hedge Meadow tinctures and salves are grown by Clare in her herb garden in southwest Wisconsin. While they're not certified organic, all of her herbs are grown without the use of chemicals on land that has never been exposed to chemicals—just healthy black soil, sunshine, and summer rains.

The dried herbs that are used in our tea line and sold in bulk are sourced from other organic growers. We aim to source as locally as we can from independent herb farms committed to the production of high-quality botanicals, as well as regenerative farming and land stewardship practices. Our current list of growers includes:

We've also put a lot of consideration into our tea packaging. Each tea comes in a food-safe cardboard tube that is fully biodegradable, recyclable, and reusable, and the labels are made from hemp. When you're done with your tea, simply peel off the label to dispose of it and compost or recycle the rest. You can also reach out to us for a discounted refill.

Lastly, all Hedge Meadow products are made by hand in small batches in our herbal workshop (which includes a licensed commercial kitchen) in beautiful, historic Mazomanie, Wisconsin.
