As within, so without.

Over the years, my work as an herbalist has been a process of aligning myself with the vision I hold for the world. This has been a journey of trial and error, listening and self-reflection, learning and unlearning. Below are the core frameworks that are woven into my work. I share them not to insist that I incorporate all of them perfectly, all of the time . Instead I share them so that when you visit the shop or choose to work with me as a client, you become an active participant and co-collaborator in the vision I hold. The values at the heart of these frameworks are my commitment to you.

I am committed to an intersectional, accessible, and decentralized health and wellness ecosystem. I believe strongly in personalized, client-centered care that weaves together a multitude of healing modalities. I honor and deeply appreciate the life-saving, harm-reducing strengths of the western medical system, while also acknowledging its limitations. As a complimentary practitioner, I am dedicated to working alongside other health professionals to ensure the best possible outcomes for my clients.

Healing is nonlinear, multifaceted, and interdependent. It must take into consideration the systems, structures, and institutions that impact the wellness of an individual or community. True holistic health acknowledges a person’s whole experience. In addition to individualized care, people need good health insurance, safety, access to resources and mental health services, time for rest and fun, robust communities, connection to nature, and a life free from oppression.

Our bodies are infinitely wise and doing the best that they can. I value process and progress over perfection. Using a blend of vitalist and palliative strategies, each consultation is deeply personal, centering the client and their goals, as well as their unique experience of living in their body. This work is rooted in trust.

Healing happens in relationship. My role is to facilitate a creative collaboration between the client, my knowledge of plants, and the intelligence of the living world. As an herbalist, I am devoted to holistically supporting others as they deepen their connection to themselves and to the Earth. I believe that each and every one of us belongs here, and that the Earth misses us as much as we miss the Earth. I believe that by working with plants we are coming home to ourselves—remembering our way back into the great web of life to which we each belong.
