The Celestial Garden: A Progressive View of Traditional Gardening by the Moon
Astrology began as a tool and system of agriculture yet in our modern, mechanized world, we tend to overlook this age-old wisdom. In my 30+ years of growing herbs, I have incorporated the moon phases with a focus on the elemental influences of Fire, Earth, Air, and Water, bringing rhythm, design, and timely methods to my organic herb farming practice.
This ancient agricultural practice of gardening by the moon gives us clues as to when to be most effective in your activities. There is a best time for planting, for weeding, for harvesting, and for living. Come join Jane and learn the planetary flow from her 35 years of experience in the field.

About the Teacher:
Jane Hawley Stevens began specializing in growing herbs in 1981. After earning a degree in horticulture from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, she founded her business in 1987—Four Elements Organic Herbals—an herbal products company made from plants grown in her cultivated fields and Chakra Garden, and from the prairie and woodlands of her farm in the pristine Baraboo Bluffs.

This 2-hour class will be held at Hedge Meadow Herbs + Apothecary located at 25 Brodhead St in Mazomanie, WI.
What to Expect/Bring:
Herbal tea will be provided but please bring whatever else you need to take care of yourself. You may also want to bring a pen and paper. If you’d like to sit on the floor, bring a floor pillow.

Accessibility:
We will be seated during the workshop. Please note that you must go up two stairs to enter the building.
Covid Safety:
Weather-permitting, the door will remain cracked throughout the duration of class and there will be an air purifier running in the space. Masks are not required but recommended. Please use common sense and do not attend class if you’re sick, if someone in your household is sick, or if you know you’ve been exposed to an infectious pathogen.
Cancellation/Refund Policy:
We reserve the right to cancel class at any point due to a lack of interest. If this is the case, anyone who has signed up will receive a full refund.
If you sign up for class but can no longer attend, please let us know at least 48 hours prior to class for a full refund. If you let us know the day prior to class, you will receive a 50% refund. Sorry, but if you cancel the day of class you will not receive a refund.
